I'm still here!

Hello peeps!

Sorry for the very poor blogging lately. It's been a slightly stressful week with work, studies and my granddad's funeral.

But! Things are looking up. I just sent my first application for future studies, and next week I'm going to London to celebrate my 27th birthday. Wohoo! Can't wait! Lots to do before that though so I need to stay focused. Tam ta daa.

What was I supposed to do now? Oh right, pay the bills. Lovely.

Frosty the Snowperson

We don't have snow in Helsinki yet, so what do you do? Make your own snowman of course. Anything to distract yourself from cleaning, or thesis writing or maybe taking that walk although it's pitch black outside.

Here's my man, or woman. You decide. I'll make another one later so it won't feel too lonely.

Oh dear, you should see my dinner table right now ... It looks like an arts and crafts store has exploded.

Old fashioned balls

I can't help myself. Here's a "christmas ball" even the weakest Christmas tree can manage.

I have to find some other kind of yarn because this white one wants to unravel. And yes, this is a ball with edges, but hey, at least it looks home made. :P

Badly timed Ballads

There's slight madness in the shops today because tomorrow's All Saints Day and everything will be closed.

I had two missions:

1. Buy candles for the graves. I bought two in case I want to light one at my grandfather's family grave as well. My granddad died on Monday so he's not buried there yet, but it might still be a nice thing to do.
Now, I don't mind music in shops, but in the candle section, on the day before All Saints Day, it might be decent not to play songs like "All by myself", sung by Eric Carmen. People are there buying candles for dead loved ones and in that situation, you don't really need to be reminded you're alone. Just a thought ...

2. Buy some goodies to eat. My brother and his family is coming over for coffee tomorrow before we go to the graveyard together, so I wanted to treat them to something tasty. Though I haven't tried the cake yet, so it might still be a disaster. Oh well ...

Have a good weekend!

I bought myself a bunch of roses. Because I'm worth it.

Green Christmas

I decided to recycle some of the candy wrapping paper I had at home, and here's the result: Partially home made Christmas decorations.

I'm going to make more than two, only I have to redo some of the "balls" because I had a "glue accident". They got stuck to the wrong part of the project and the paper ripped. Still, I'm quite happy with them. Difficult to photograph though because they insisted on dangling.

Anywho, time to clean up the mess.
